Strange dingo fact 1 - it turns out the belief that Australian kelpies have dingo ancestry is bush folklore. Genetic testing undertaken by the University of Sydney in 2019 failed to find any dingo DNA at all in kelpies.
Dingoes have been in Australia for at least 4,000 years and while they might look like your friendly neighbourhood dog, they are still wild animals and as such can be dangerous. Beautiful as well of course, as this stunning postcard shows!
